Requirements for becoming a real estate sales consultant
The Real Estate Agents Act (2008) defines the qualifications needed to become a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.
To become a sales consultant with the Professionals, or any other real estate agency, you must hold a Salesperson’s Licence from the Real Estate Agents Authority.
You are entitled to apply for a salesperson's licence if:

You are entitled to apply for a salesperson's licence if:
- you are 18 years old or over; and
- you are not prohibited from being licensed for any of the reasons set out in section 37 of the 2008 Act; and
- you are a fit and proper person to hold a licence; and
- you have the prescribed qualifications.
The prescribed qualifications are set out in the Real Estate Agents (Licensing) Regulations and are available here.
