I started at the outset of Professionals as an Auckland foundation member. Previously I was a small independent and joined for referrals and the need for a national marketing brand.
Even with the strong brand, I never feel like a cloned corporate where we all look the same and act the same. Professionals give me the freedom to experiment and adopt what works best for me.
Over 30 years later I’m still here sharing ideas, camaraderie and mixing with market leaders - people you can talk to, can trust and who share mutual respect for one another in an open book approach.
All up, I’ve been in the real estate game for 45 years and in that time have achieved many personal and business performance awards. Of course focusing on awards doesn’t improve your bottom line, but it’s satisfying and motivating knowing you’re on top of the heap!
On a daily basis we deal with the challenge of change. I love it and the excitement it creates! Achieving in a tough market, remaining profitable, adopting a positive attitude - I see it all as an opportunity to clean out and revisit systems. It’s certainly a priority to ensure you at least maintain your market share so that your sales team can retain their income, and I’ve have done it four times now!
It’s important to have a plan and work the systems and this is where my Professionals network is invaluable. Referrals, systems, sharing of knowledge and information, rubbing shoulders with the best in the business, learning from the leaders, workshops, conferences, and just generally making you aware of what you can do and how quickly you can adjust.
There’s a lot to enjoy about this business but for me staff success, seeing people grow and climbing their mountains is very rewarding. Through personal experience and considerable success I have helped many people achieve their goals and know that will continue in the future.
