Mike Henderson

Mike Henderson is a South Islander by birth but now resides in Auckland with his family [those still at home]. He spent twenty years in the finance industry in senior management roles in business development, marketing, strategic planning and regional management. After this Mike left to run his own business which he sold after five successful years.
He has also led four separate franchise enterprises in general management and CEO positions, including Robert Harris Café, Paper Plus and Furniture Court. During this period he served on school boards of trustees (including a period as chairman) and served a term as Chairman of the Franchise Association of New Zealand. More recently Mike spent 21 months as CEO of ETITO [a multi-industry Industry Training Organisation]. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.
In his spare time, Mike plays hockey, participates in Rotary and is on a district council for Rotary International Youth Exchange. He and his wife [Gaye] are in a yachtshare to experience the benefits of living in Auckland and enjoy activities of the outdoor nature [skiing, tramping, camping etc]. Mike can’t hit a golf ball very well, has been known to have difficulty staying on his bike and is finding that his head and body are no longer co-ordinated when seeking to undertake what used to be “second nature”.
