Our Story

We’ve been helping Kiwi’s buy, sell, rent and lease their properties for over 40 years. We have been at the cutting edge of the industry since then and we pride ourselves on delivering successful real estate outcomes.

The brand started in Australia in 1974, and was brought to New Zealand by some entrepreneurial business owners who could see the potential for a co-operative Real Estate Group in Aotearoa in 1983. It wasn’t their goal to compete with one another, rather they worked together, creating a network while still maintaining their independence as business owners.

The model was a hit. From 1983 New Zealand real estate businesses began to join the Professionals Group - and we’ve been expanding ever since, now operating in most areas across in the country. We’re an independent, Kiwi-owned business, but we each have a say in the future direction of the group, and draw on its strength and resources to better serve our communities.

After one of our member lost their child to cancer in 1994, we partnered with Child Cancer Foundation and are proud to be a Superhero Business Partner. Throughout the year, we run various fundraising initiatives, and $25 of each house sale goes to this important cause. 

Our Salespeople

When you meet a Professionals salesperson, you immediately get a sense that they are local experts - your neighbours, or soon-to-be-neighbours.

That’s because all Professionals businesses are locally owned and operated by people who are passionate about the area they live and work in. You’ll know that the salesperson who represents you has all the ‘intel’ on your neighbourhood. And what’s more, they'll also have access to a nationwide network of salespeople and buyers.

This means they're more than just salespeople. They're competition creators. They are ‘negotiators for hire’. They will help you maximise your net worth when it comes time to sell your property.
