What is the Christmas Lights Spectacular?

The Professionals Christmas Lights Spectacular is a cherished tradition that encourages participants to help spread the Christmas spirit by illuminating their homes and businesses with lights and decorations for the public to view. Every year thousands across the region enjoy this mesmerising and unforgettable experience.

Professionals Unique Realty have been proudly organising the annual Christmas Lights Spectacular for the Manawatū region for over 20 years. The aim is to help spread the joy of Christmas by promoting residential and commercial Christmas Light displays.

What's involved?

Participants put together amazing Christmas Light displays to impress the community. All the entered displays then get judged by our volunteer team to determine who can put together the most spectacular Christmas display in the region.

Judging week is Dec 8th through until Dec 14th.

Display Categories

Whether you're part of a small family who are just keen to spread a little Christmas cheer after work, or if you have a grand display planned, spanning multiple properties. This year, we’ve refined the competition categories to make them fairer and even more engaging for participants and the community.

Best Residential Display

For individual homes going all-out with festive lights and decorations. Decorate your front yard, your garage space or even a window space.

Prize: $1,000 Mitre 10 Voucher

For groups of neighbours or streets working together to create a combined wonderland.
